HELLO NORDICS: SPREADING PROVEN MIGRANT SOLUTIONS ACROSS THE REGION
The Hello Nordics Accelerator programme began in October 2018 with the final event taking place in Copenhagen just last month with 200 people in attendance. A collaboration between the Ashoka Nordic team, the Hello Europe network and a number of partners involved from the private sector including Nordea, Acando, Oliver Wyman and Vinge, Hello Nordics aims to support the scaling of selected proven solutions to migrants challenges in the region.
Migrant unemployment, growing income inequality and school result gaps were among the leading reasons to bring Hello to the Nordics.
The first two Hello Nordics modules held in Stockholm and Oslo included trainings, mentoring and workshops led by topical experts. The final event connected the participants with key stakeholders for their scaling activities in the region through workshops and networking activities.
Ten entrepreneurs were carefully chosen - two each from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden and two international for their proven systemic impact, innovation and commitment to scale these solutions to the Nordics region. Catalysts (NO), Sisters in Business (NO), Foreningen Nydansker (DK), GAME (DK), Startup Refugees (FI), Icehearts (FI), Mitt Liv (SE), Idrott Utan Gränser (SE), Welcoming International (USA/Germany) and ACAF/Winkomun (Spain) were the 10 solutions selected.
