Mitt Liv (Jimmy Antonssons)
Contributing towards an inclusive society and a labor market that values diversity, Mitt Liv tackles the issue of higher unemployment rates among the foreign-born communities by acting as a bridge between Swedish businesses and competent work force with a foreign background.
Through mentorship programs, Mitt Liv enables newcomers to improve their language skills, increase their knowledge about the labor market and expand their professional networks in Sweden, while companies gain a greater understanding of how to strategically work with questions around diversity within the organisation.
Every year Mitt Liv has around 500 newcomers participating in their mentorship program with 51% of them securing a job that matches their competences within 5 months of finishing the program (while only 1 out of 20 people achieve the same in the government’s employment agency integration program).

Idrott Utan Gränser (Ashoka Fellow, Admir Lukacevic)
Utan Gränser works to counteract exclusion and segregation of children and adolescents through sports. Their aim is to strengthen the children’s confidence and self-esteem, in order to make them see future possibilities and avoid marginalisation.
Idrott Utan Gränser introduces meaningful recreational activities in school gym classes so that all children are given the opportunity to try out new things that are not the most obvious. The organisation also arranges activities in the evenings, weekends and holidays in residential areas and malls so that the children have the opportunity to do something meaningful instead of sitting at home. The concept is based on seeing, praising and confirming each child so that they dare to participate actively, dare to fail, dare to create social relationships and dare to say no.
In 2018, Idrott Utan Gränser was active in 97 schools, reaching 24.000 children weekly, in 6 municipalities across Sweden. They are now planning to triple that figure, and expand to Norway.
